Dragon's Breath -February 2022
Hello my Dragons!
January is finally over, which is typically my least favorite month. What's better, this month of February we have Private Dragon's first publication of 2022. There is so much to look forward to this year and this month, I'm sure you are just as excited as I am.
Of course, this month's main event is "The Serpent Rider" by Eric Staggs. This amazing story will be in stores and on shelves on February 18th. What more can I say that hasn't already been said about this incredible story? If you've somehow been living under a rock until now and haven't heard us talking about it, let me just borrow the words of Boyd from last week's article.
"The Serpent Rider" is a mythological fantasy that chronicles the hardships of Keteris, a serpent rider in the legendary lost city of Atlantis. Keteris is just one of many serpent riders, whom Atlantis uses as an elite military force that has provided them naval dominance throughout the region for several generations. Atlantis is powerful, rich, and prideful, a true leader of its time. Yet, with greatness comes complacency, and complacency can be extorted. Keteris is part of the latest generation of serpent riders, who manages to earn a decent reputation alongside his menacing sea serpent, Long Shadow. Believe me when I tell you that this book has it all. Jaw-dropping action, battles and fierce duels to the death on both land and sea, shady plots from enemies on all sides, heartbreaking betrayals, brutal escapes, and of course, plenty of giant sea serpents.
Coming up fairly soon after that is "Children of the Black" by WJ Long III. This book is Private Dragon's very first Sci-fi novel and we are super excited about it. As you may be aware this book has recently gone through a design change. Last month we had a vote about which of the two covers was best for the book. Both books received many votes and this experiment was by far our most successful poll yet. There was a clear winner and we are very confident that the book will be a success.
Of course, we still have a free promo for "Children of the Black" if you'd like to tip your toe and see if this amazing story is something that you'd like. https://dl.bookfunnel.com/6g21er3wfy
Here's also a synopsis to get you started:
After a thousand years of war, a scarred humanity struggles to carve a path free of its shadow, but old habits die hard. In this trying time, a former mercenary and a young girl with psionic gifts are tasked with finding what remains of a failed project that once had the potential to bring about lasting peace. With remnants of their pasts returning to lay claim on their future, the two must learn to depend on one another if they have any hope of keeping a new conflict from burning its way throughout the known universe.
That's all for now but we have several surprises that we'll be revealing soon so stay tuned. Let us know in the comments which project you're looking forward to most.
