Dragon's Breath -September 2022
Ahoy Dragons!
It's been a minute but we're back with the latest Dragon's Breath Newsletter. There are many upcoming books and projects that I can't wait to tell you about.
Nathan Turner and the Rage Within - Anthony J Santora
Best-selling author Anthony J Santora's newest book, "Nathan Turner and the Rage Within" is nearly ready to hit the shelves. This book is the proper sequel to his first book, "Nathan Turner and the New World Order" and is in the same series as "The Guided" that was released last year and earned Santora his best-seller status.
The main cover was revealed a few weeks ago on social media, which if you're not following already, I highly recommend doing so now. This cover has to be one of my favorites that PD has ever done. It reminds me a bit of an Empire Strikes Back poster, don't you think?
We have a few alternate covers that we will also be using to spread the word about "Nathan Turner and the Rage Within" and we plan on incorporating them into the book somehow. Comment below which of the three is your favorite and how you think we should include these two alternates.
"Nathan Turner and the Rage Within" kicks the story into high gear. This thrilling sequel takes your favorite characters from the Nathan Turner Chronicles and puts them into even greater peril with stakes that are even higher than the first book. The Prince and the UWA are squeezing tight as they attempt to maintain control over the world, with Nathan Turner and his rebels as their greatest threat. Rage and a burning fury fuel both Nathan and his antithesis, Deshad, into putting an end to this war once and for all. They stand in each other's way. Neither intends to yield as the forces of freedom and oppression collide.
Of course, that's just my own summary but I'm hardly the writer. This is why I'm pleased to be able to share the official back cover synopsis of the book with you today.
War is raging across the former United States as the United World Alliance (UWA) murders in secret and continues to brainwash the masses. Inspired by Nathan Turner and his team, America's last patriots use guerrilla warfare across the nation in a desperate attempt to free their country from the New World Order. Deshad and his Sanguinis assassins are solely focused on eliminating the rebel leader while Nathan walks in darkness, losing himself in the horrors of war, becoming what he hates in a last-ditch effort to defeat the Illuminati by going after their leader, the Prince. Join the revolution in this action-packed continuation of the Nathan Turner series filled with conspiracies, horror, and hope!
This book is coming soon. In fact, it will be releasing for all to read on September 23rd, just a few weeks away!
That Great Leviathan - Tyler Kimball
Another book coming out soon is "That Great Leviathan" by Tyler Kimball. The setting of this narrative is what really hooked me. The book takes place in a land far to the north, covered by ice, snow, and permafrost. The arctic port with a history of rebellion, Northernmost. For over a century, a curse has strangled Northernmost. The population is dying slowly, and only the mayor, a dragon, prevents their demise. The story follows Kingfisher Volganin, a harpy fascinated by tales of chivalry and romantic adventure. She joins Nicodemus Fade and his team ragtag team of skilled travelers. Their efforts are interrupted when a mercenary company presses them into service on a treacherous trek into the polar wastes to unseal a legendary dragonslayer, Cunigunde the Whirlwind, from her imprisonment. However, Cunigunde rejects their offer, and her rescuers barely escape with their lives. The people of Northernmost are soon alerted to this attempted assassination of the mayor, and the long-simmering intrigues of the city boil over.
I wish I had more to share right now but more details will be coming soon.
Cursed Objects - Eden Crowne
Now this is a book from a new author that I'm so excited about. I say that Eden is a "new" author because she's new to Private Dragon, but she's published many amazing stories already and already has a large fan base. If you're interested in learning about her or her previous work, check out her website. Her upcoming book with PD is "Cursed Objects," an awesome supernatural thriller mystery that chronicles Riley O’Ryan, a witch from a long line of earth’s most powerful witches. Her father was murdered, her mother was taken into a mysterious realm between life and death known as the Shadowlands, and her older brother is aloof and MIA. When she’s given the case of the cursed Romanov Egg, she realizes a connection between the cursed object, it’s prisoner–Count Alexander “Alexi” Ivanovitch–and the mysterious Shadowlands. Alexi wishes to be free of his hundred-year curse and reunite with his long-lost brother but ending the curse too early would leave the mysteries of the Shadowlands undiscovered to Riley. A trap is set and both Riley and Alexi are pawns in a much bigger plot that (assuming they don’t die) will answer all of their questions.
The cover art and official release date will be announced soon. Stay tuned.
Soul Crystals: Atlantis Risen - LaTrobe Barnitz
That's right, the Soul Crystals saga is back! LaTrobe Barnitz's third installment is nearly ready and it's the best one yet. Barnitz closes the Soul Crystals trilogy(a PD's fan-favorite) by picking up right where he left off, which if you read "The Mask of Tragedy" then you know that was on a HUGE cliffhanger. I won't spoil it for those who still want to read the series but just know that the series' author really delivers with this final book. I know we haven't talked about this a lot and we'll be giving out more details on, "Soul Crystals: Atlantis Risen," later this month.
Gardens of Glory - PD Games
"Gardens of Glory" is progressing nicely. More and more cards are designed by the day and I really think it's something that everyone will enjoy playing. I'm pleased to be able to share the artwork for two of our upcoming cards. "Monty, the Mighty Mongoose" and "Harvey, the Heavy Artillery Pig." If you remember the games as it was laid out, both of these cards are garden card (what you duel your opponent with). Monty is a melee type and Harvey is a ranged type. We'll release more details and artwork about the game as we develop it, so stay tuned and tell us in the comments what you think of these cards.
So as you can see, there's a lot going on here at Private Dragon. Tell us in the comments which book or game you're most excited about.
